We flew and flew: Seattle to Reykjavik, transferred, flew on to Helsinki. Got a room in the aptly-named CityBox hotel. Got up and flew to Rovaniemi (FInland), and got on a bus.
Crossed the Arctic Circle (!!!!!), left Santa Claus land behind and stared out the window as we got into forest and lakes.
1450 Kilometers north of Helsinki!
This was the big lake our “cabin” in Inari was on. Lake Inari, called by the Sami people the Inari Sea.Way way way great hiking and roaming that started blocks from our place. Not to mention that almost ALL the low brush is blueberries (bilberries) or lingonberries.
Tasty tasty! And no mosquitoes…
