and then it was time to head home

We were seasoned hands at packing up and heading to whatever transport station, bus or train or occasional place, came next.
This time it was the Keflavík International Airport. We started the day with our last hot-pot soak, picked up some great baked goods on the walk back to our place, and caught a commuter bus.
A window (and middle) seat on the flight was great because our entire flight was during daylight. There were clouds and then there was whitish that wasn’t quite clouds and then there were mountains and long rivers of glacier: Greenland.

Clouds filled in below us until about the Northwest Passage, cleared north of Hudson Bay so we could see our arc over central Canada and then it really started to feel like we were getting close to home– I spotted the headwaters of the Columbia/ Nichiwana.
The sun set over the Olympics as we were landing.
